Alice Moore Allen

Alumnus, Parent of Current Student

As for Kelly, she is amazing. She is a river grad and returned to raise her kids here in river. She’s the parent of two young kids. She’s a certified educator in social studies and literacy; she has classroom experience. She is so dedicated to our schools. She was the lead chair in our successful levy campaign. I worked with her then, and saw first-hand how she would push back at the admin when they weren’t giving us what we needed to be successful. She is informed about goings on in Columbus and about goings on in our district. She loves our community so much that she is committed to holding it accountable and addressing its flaws. She is also one of our schools’ biggest cheerleaders. She is embedded in the community but not in a way where she is blind to problems.

About Me

Where I am From

Kelly grew up in Rocky River and attended Kindergarten through 12th grade in the the Rocky River school district. After graduating from Rocky River in 2003 Kelly attended Marietta College (Class of 2007) to further her education.

After returning to Rocky River to study for her Master's degree, Kelly decided to make Rocky River her permanent home with her husband (Rocky River Class of 2002).  Kelly has two children, a 9 year-old and a 5 year-old, along with a dog named Pirate.

Before becoming a stay at home mom, Kelly spent 8 years in various roles in two Cleveland City Charter Schools.  Bouncing between in class instruction and administrative duties she gained a deep appreciation for the opportunities schools can provide in all communities and is passionate about continuing to develop Rocky River's excellent schools.

In the community, Kelly is a member at Rocky River United Methodist Church and is active in both Early Childhood PTA, Goldwood PTA, and Kensington PTA.  As president of Early Childhood PTA, Kelly  lead several community engagement projects including All Aglow, SafetyTown, and various charity drives.  She was also asked to join two advisory committees with current Rocky River Schools administration and School Board members, giving her practical experience in the relationship between these groups.

Kelly's belief in the community and the schools is reflected in her decision to return with her family and stay highly involved.
