FAQs
What are the most pressing issues facing Rocky River City School District?
There are currently 3 pressing issues facing the district. First is the upcoming update to Rocky River City Schools Strategic Plan that will guide the district for the next 3-5 years. In addition to the strategic plan, the district will continue to face challenges from statewide legislation and mandates. Finally, Rocky River City Schools will need to continue to be diligent about fiscal management; budget issues; and looking for ways to continue to stretch our levy cycles and tax dollars further.

What is the role of the School Board/School Board Members?
After attending the Ohio School Board Association's New Candidate Workshop in July 2021, I feel I gained a better understanding of what my role would be if I were to gain a seat on the Rocky River Board of Education. "The school board and its members need to keep educational goals and district policies focused on upholding state laws and community values. The school board employs the superintendent and treasurer; the board must hold them accountable but also listen to their suggestions. The school board must also build public support and have an understanding of public education" (Ohio School Board Association, New Candidate Workshop).

What political party do you belong to?
This is a question that should not have any influence on school board members or candidates. School board elections are non-partisan and the board's only focus is doing what is best for the stakeholders within the school district.
